Yale College Hospitality and Catering Lecturer, Rhiannon Ballinger is celebrating success having gained top marks for her Welsh language sabbatical. Achieving four ?A? grades; fluent Welsh speaker Rhiannon, who is first year VRQ Diploma & NVQ Professional Cookery Course co-ordinator and personal tutor at Yale College has completed the National Practitioners? Higher Training at Bangor University. The course she undertook, instigated by the Welsh government, was designed to enable fluent Welsh speakers to develop their Welsh language skills to a higher standard for teaching bilingually or through the medium of Welsh. ?It was hard work,? says Rhiannon who is now keen to progress her Welsh studies to masters level at Bangor University, ?I would definitely recommend it to others.? Dedicated Rhiannon completed a personal portfolio encompassing advanced translation and teaching skills as she continued her demanding role at Yale College. ?We are very proud of Rhiannon,? says Mark Parsons, Manager of Hospitality and Catering at Yale College, ?Rhiannon?s training will complement our learning provision in College.? Rhiannon?s course culminated in a report to Welsh government to highlight her learning.
