Windows Desktop Management Specialist
The George Mason University, Computing Resources Department within the Volgenau School of Engineering seeks a full-time Windows Desktop Management Specialist (computing support specialist).
This position is responsible for configuring and supporting over 300 computers using specialized software in academic teaching labs.
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:?
- Several years of demonstrated experience supporting MS Windows-based computers in an enterprise environment;
- Experience with Windows Server administration and configuration;
- Experience with configuration and management of Windows desktop tools (SCCM, Ghost, Deep Freeze, etc.);
- Experience configuring and supporting Windows-based applications;
- Understanding of networking concepts;
- Experience with computer security concepts, especially compromise prevention and mitigation; and
- Demonstrated initiative in previous positions.
The successful candidate must work well independently and as a member of a team. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population, and an overall customer service-oriented attitude.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
